The customer’s request
For the construction of a new combined cycle unit of the thermoelectric power plant of Tavazzano and Montanaso (in the province of Lodi), Ansaldo Energia, an international supplier of energy solutions, has relied on Tamini for the supply of transformers for the gas turbine, the steam turbine and auxiliary services.
Tamini’s solution
To meet the customer’s needs, Tamini has provided for the supply of three transformers: among these is the largest ever built in Italy, with a power of 670 MVA and a primary voltage of 400 kV.
Project Stages
Tamini carried out the design, construction, done entirely in the Legnano (MI) plant, and the delivery of the three power transformers. Tamini and Ansaldo Energia achieved the result despite the logistical difficulties related to the transport of the machine from the construction facility to the power station; the weight of the main transformer, in fact, was about 350 tonnes.
